Lake houses & lake days
Lake Travis parties are a different animal from a suburban backyard, and it is the area where we get asked for margaritas rather than slushies more often than anywhere else. Lake house parties run longer, the guest list is looser, and people drift in and out over an afternoon rather than arriving all at once — which is exactly the situation a self-serve frozen drink machine is good at.
Check your date
Two practical things come up on nearly every lake booking. First, power: a lot of lake houses have their entertaining space on a lower deck or by the water, away from the outlets. The machine needs a standard outlet it can stay plugged into for the whole party, so it is worth checking what is reachable before we arrive rather than discovering it during setup.
Second, sun. Decks over the water get full afternoon sun with nowhere to hide, and a machine in direct heat produces a softer drink. If there is a shaded corner or a spot under an overhang, that is where it should go.
Because Lake Travis covers a wide area, some addresses are inside our free 15-mile radius and some are not. Spicewood and Briarcliff sit toward the outer edge. Send us the address with your booking and we will tell you the exact number before you commit — there is a $1/mile charge past 15 miles and we would rather you knew up front.
This is also the area where we get the most adult bookings. We rent the machine and bring the mix; you add your own tequila. We do not sell or serve alcohol.

$50 deposit holds your date and comes off the $250.

Slush Sisters is run by two sisters, Harper and Finley, ages 11 and 8, with their dad driving the truck. They pick the flavors, match the candy to each one, and handle the setup. It is a real business and they run it.

As long as there is a standard outlet the machine can stay plugged into, and a flat surface. We will not run a machine anywhere it could get knocked into the water, so a deck set back from the edge is better than the end of a dock.
Both work. The machine runs two flavors at once, so a lake house party can have margaritas in one tank and something non-alcoholic in the other — which is the usual setup when there are kids around as well.
The dual-tank machine, two flavors, delivery, setup, cups, a candy garnish on every cup, and pickup the next morning. Getting it down to a dock or a lower deck is part of the setup, not an extra. A $50 deposit holds your date and comes off the total.
No. The machine arrives with frozen mix and nothing else in it. On the lake parties we do, a grown-up adds their own tequila once we have left, following the printed instructions. Worth knowing: too much and it will not freeze at all, which is the most common way one of these goes wrong.
The next morning. Nobody wants to be carrying a machine back up from the water in the dark, so we leave it with you overnight and come for it in daylight.
